Internal Audit & Forensic Investigations

Internal Audit

WC has developed its audit practice for more than 30 years and provides a wide range of services including:

  • Value-for-Money Audits
  • Operational Audits
  • Financial Audits
  • Compliance Audits
  • Functional Audits
    • Risk Management
    • Security
    • Communications
    • Research and Development
    • Occupational Health and Safety
    • Grants and Contributions
    • Financial Management

In addition, WC assists organizations who wish to take advantage of Control Self-Assessment (CSA) methodology to expand their audit coverage. CSA is a proven methodology which engages staff within smaller operational or support groups to self-identify the barriers to achievement of their objectives. Done under the guidance of the WC facilitator, a CSA can identify and propose solutions to core causes of inefficiency and ineffectiveness in dramatically less time than could be done by traditional auditor testing and analysis.

Because audit is a risk-based function, WC frequently assists audit groups who want to advance their use of risk concepts and methodology in: planning their multi-year audit coverage; planning audit engagements; employing risk assessment as an audit technique; reporting audit findings based on risk, and following up audit recommendation based on risk.

WC’s has professional external audit qualification (CA) and internal audit qualifications (CIA, CCSA, CRMA).

Forensic Investigations

Whether related to internal audit, security or other areas of sensitivity, WC helps clients who need expert assistance conducting forensic investigations. WC’s experience and qualifications (CFE) enabled the identification of responsible parties, avoidance of material losses and recovery funds obtained by wrongdoing.
